BTW, DirectX 11 isn't a "visual improvement", it's an API improvement that can be translated in either performance improvements, visual improvements or BOTH, which is probably what Crysis 3 is doing.

If there's no extra programming, slapping DX11 on top (which many lazy console developers do on their lousy PC consoleports) will actually have neither benefit.

You can't make DX11 work on consoles: PS3 doesn't even use DirectX at all.

XBOX360 uses a proprietary API, very mildly modified form of DirectX 9.0c, and PS3 uses its own proprietary API which is compatible with OpenGL 2.0, the OpenGL ES 2.0.

Their hardware isn't built to be compatible with either Dx10 or Dx11-only features. There's no "magic fix".
