Crysis 2 Weapon Focus - L-TAG

Welcome to the L-TAG Weapon Focus!

This week we're taking a cautious look at one of the most explosive weapons featured in Crysis 2. Whether you're looking to set up an ambush, performing strategic rebound shots or just blasting your way through the crowd, the L-TAG is a weapon to be feared and respected!

L-TAG:

The L-TAG is an advanced grenade launcher developed by well-known Amim-Selbach Defense Corporation. Firing a variety of 60mm large-caliber smart grenades, the “Launcher – Tactical Airburst Grenades” has seen limited use as a tactical weapon with Special Forces.

Urban combat environments are the classic domain for indirect fire such as mortars and grenade launchers. The L-TAG provides increased capabilities by giving operators even more control over when and how a grenade should detonate. With the L-TAG you can bounce grenades around corners or deploy minefields with relative ease.

The extra technology contained within each smart grenade comes at a price however, increasing overall projectile weight and complexity while limiting the amount of explosive and propellant. This results in a reduced effective range compared to other systems. As a safety precaution and for increased tactical use, L-TAG grenades include a proximity sensor that can differentiate between friend and foe.

its so weak. even if you shot at a whole bunch of enemies who protect the crashed alien pod they survive and you get owned.
also dont know why the hell they removed the sticky bombs (available in the sp)

Needs a buff for closer ranges. If anyone's jumping or gets in your face, you're kinda screwed.

F-1: "oh no, I was hoping there wouldnt be a noobtube"

No such animal in Crysis2.The Stealth, Armor & Power Modules render NT's relatively obsolete.

The TAG is balanced--it has weaknesses & strengths just like every other weapon. If anything, the JACKAL is a "NoobTube,' in the Console Demo at least. Not in the true sense of the word of course, but semantics matter not. The point is, with only 4 Weapons available in the Console Demo, the Jackal often dominates and, it's idiot-proof, so 'noobs'& more seasoned soldiers alike can wield it effectively without the need for practice & skill. Why is it so effective? Stealth! The typical weakness's of a Shotty--limited range & rate-of-fire--can be negated by entering Stealth Mode, because then you can creep up on opponents and BOOM! With accurate timing, you can close in to optimum Shotty range on the sly, making distance--the Shottys greatest enemy--a virtual non-factor. NERF the Jackal!

Heh but when the real game drops, there will be so many different ways to counter & counter-counter each Weapon. I suspect that the Jackal will suffer a significant drop-off in the extreme popularity it currently enjoys.

All of WWII sir. ------------------- Have you ever heard collateral damage sir ?! You think United Nations will let you fire mortars on civillian sites sir ?" -- We do fire mortars into cities, regularly in afghanistan and iraq, they did it in Vietnam during the tet offensive and in WW2. And it would be NATO that would get angry at you the UN just sit on their asses and debate stuff ---------- I "really" don't think they are firing mortars on civillian sites neither in Afganistan nor in Iraq CPLDAN.
