Crysis 2 Weapon Focus - Hammer

Welcome to Hammer Weapon Focus!

Today's article is our first focus on the range of pistols available in Crysis 2. Don't let its size deceive you though, this .50 caliber pistol is definitely the kind of 'last resort' that you want to have at your disposal if you find yourself out of ammunition or fumbling around with a reload on your main weapon. Hammer:

The latest in high-caliber handguns, Ukrainian Lisunov Arms have unleashed a true beast with their new Hammer pistol. Designed for the heavy hitting .50cal Compact round, the Hammer boasts unrivalled stopping power for its class, capable of piercing spider silk body armor with just a few shots.

Insufficient for military usage as a sidearm, due to its low magazine size and high recoil, the weapon is nonetheless popular with bodyguard services and other private contractors around the globe, where instant stopping power counts more than ammo capacity.

Recently, rumors emerged that mega corporation CryNet have secured a lucrative contract with Lisunov to equip their private sector C.E.L.L. security forces with Hammer pistols, despite concerns from civil rights lawyers that the weapon would be overkill in the hands of law enforcement. CryNet were unavailable for comment on the matter.

    hammer is nice but i like majestic more its stronger and you can add a scope

    i agree ;) the Colt M1911.45 is the way to go :)

    Eh, I get the feeling most of you have no hands-on time with handguns. The Desert Eagle from IMI is a bit of a running joke in certain circles, if you want to waste $2000 and look like a tool carry a Deagle in .50. If you want to communicate business and know-how, 1911 in .45 is the way to go. That being said, I'll use this as a sidearm in-game to see how I like it, but I prefer a few more shots and less recoil over a compensator with a compensator, if you catch my drift.__________________________________________No offense, but I don't think Alcatraz cares about communicating business, and if he does, his nanosuit does all the talking. =)

    this is the best side arm in the game but ill use it like a primary and its effective. 2 shots to the gut and the enemy is dead. its like a desert eagle. i dont like it with a silencer though cause you cant hear its sound. without the silencer its nice and loud.

    i like it idc if the gun isnt practical in real world combat situations. This game has aliens, nanosuits, oh did i mention aliens. real world situations got thrown out the window a long time ago lol. hopefully the recoil aint to bad with the nanosuit.

    This is by far the best High powered pistol I have ever encountered as a weapon scientist... I wouldn't be surprised if the US government assemble an exact replica of this in-game weapon. verdict
