If Sandbox3 and mods are allowed on PC version, you should see 64 players on custom maps after 2 months release

I think the only 'clans' most developers think of are those things that are actually just 'parties' of friends playing on the xbox.

However, as said before, mods and sandboxes will solve that.

also, there are still 3 unannounced Gamemodes, there's a very small possibility that Power Struggle is one of them, i hope so :(

anyway, I hope that Sandbox 3 lets us makes our own gamemodes and server mods, then we could port or create power struggle maps and add vehicles

I dont know how clear its been, and its been PRETTY **** clear, that the console is not the REASON why its like this.

It's not Console Fault I Agree, the Multiplayer part was designed by Crytek UK, who have designed Timesplitters series (my favorite local multiplayer games on Gamecube and PS2) they want to make mutliplayer Team-based, on normal 32 player servers, you just spawn and begging attacking the enemy, without having a lot of time to plan a strategy because there are enemies everywhere, but by making the game 6vs6, look it like this, why aren't there 32 players on L4D? because everyone would run around shooting everything, but when the number is reduced, every player is valuable, and they act as a team, thats what Crytek UK wants, to give players a Team-Based experience, however, it would be nice if there was a Free for fall 32 player ADDITIONAL gamemode, who both, Team-based players and Deathmatch players would enjoy the game

I've no doubt that 6v6 will be better to play for us non-clan folk. But it'd be nice for crytek to have one or two gamemodes that are a bit larger. But then again, if mods can solve it, they'll make their own to their liking :)

To be honest i'd rather crytek focus on completing their vision of their multiplayer to their liking and let clans create theirs using mods.

However, the whole idea that many developers (although if crysis do allow for team size modification in the sandbox, that would mean they did think about it) no longer really care about real clans now is pretty much spot on ^^

How come you guys still believe that mod and edit tool will solve everything??
If a game is designed for 12 players it will be almost impossible to get a good performance and lag free server that has twice or more of that number of players, most probably it will just be crashing all day long
and even if you can do it im sure you wont be able to use the stats on a moded server like that which will ruin most of the game
also if they keep saying its not a console limitation then why not making some game modes where you can get 32 players in??

Because why would they?

The game is designed for tactical play. The player count was selected specifically. It wasn't something that they "had to do". It's something they specifically chose to do. It was for a reason. A very good one, one that you get absolutely no say in and shouldn't in the first place.

If this decision was specifically done to make the game better, then you best just accept it or if you don't like it, don't buy it/play it. That simple.

If you want to play a game that rewards you for running around like a headless chicken, go play Black Ops.

I doubt that'll matter, it think they'd rather just be able to play with all of their clan :)

The modtools will allow them to create the maps they need and sort the playercount to make a 'new multiplayer' for crysis 2 alongside the standard. It can only really be good for crytek if it draws more people in. The only issue is keeping pirates off multiplayer while giving out server code, since not giving it out is a sure fire way to keep them away (bc2 and black ops for example).

Ah well, hope it gets fixed for clan guys somehow, but i do like the idea of 6v6 as opposed to zerg versus zerg. I find the game has to be built up from the beginning to have large numbers work properly (like battlefield).

Im starting to believe that Crytec wont give us the sandbox3...
