Dont get me wrong folks, I did say that I hope anyone who wants to test the Beta, get the chance to do so, the operative word being TEST !!. I reckon Beta should be Beta, and demo should be demo.

As Talon pointed out the two over time seem to have become one in an effort both to promote, and keep in step with competative marketing, but it is simply so damm annoying when you go to report bugs.

First thing is to check see did the issue allready get noted, take's a damm day to get past all the rants groans and moans, low comaprisons to other games, and general abusive attitudes of the
many who, just want a free ticket.

Then they find the bugs and glitches, and limited map venue, and you would think they paid like $500 or something for it, thats the downside that can come with the some of the people who demand and expect Beta.

Again this is aimed at no one in particular, and I dont wish to offend, but it did need to be said. :D

The purpose of a beta has turned into a couple different things over the years. The main purpose is to test the functionality of the game, and to find bugs and glitches. Recently though, developers have stopped making demos and have focused solely on an advertising beta (preorder for beta, etc).

There is no need to argue back and forth what a beta is meant for, because it is the companies choice what the beta should accomplish. Whether Crytek wants a discreet beta to just find bugs and glitches, or a massive beta to advertise the game, is up to them.[/quote]

I highly doubt this site is even being moderated, let alone checking posts "for quality feedback". One guy here was spamming like 50 of the same comments on one picture. Did that get taken care of? Dunno, but it was there for days. Look, you guys are obviously very desperate to get into this, but your chances are as much as anyone. If you want my advice, spend your time doing something better than hanging around here all day, unless you've nothing better to do, which you probably dont. Just sit tight, relax, and you'll see if you get accepted..

As you found the time to come and be highly critical, dont suggest we got nothing better to do, I only checked in three times today, otherwise been well busy.

The reason I think for all the "Where's my beta" rants is that while this forum launched quite some time ago now, there seems to be no news at all. The mods are around but they seem to not be able to provide news because they are not allowed to.
It is the lack of news that makes some people who signed up very early in the hopes of prizes anxious, because they are left in the dark, and they really want the beta. So it is natural to ask.

The link you posted, guss, says that only some of those who signed up early will get the beta. That does not sit well with some people who were under the impression that all the first wave people will get the beta, and so naturally they want to know what is happening.

You will also note that that link dates to June. It is August now, and no-one knows anything, and that is why there is all the 'Where is the beta?'

People are just complaining, The only thing I have to complain about this forum is that I haven't saw the razor thing giveaway, and since my logitech keyboard broked, and I'm usin a microsoft wireless normal keyboard (it's impossible to play games online with that). So I want free things! =D

Dont know what "sitting on the forums all day is", because i only visit this site three times a day, i just have a lot to say. :)

i am completely sure crytek will get the beta to those they choose.
and remember, they cant just snap thier fingers and make it appear. it takes time to get that sort of stuff made

yup, take your point, but we have had no news about it in that time other than what the lik tells us, but throughout this time we have seen hundreds of people who seem to have no knowledge of these details

Tthey heard the word Beta, and jumped on the wagon, creating a new thread instead of reading the many existing threads that gave all the relevant info.

On the other hand some people, as you say, are wondering what is happening, and waiting as they have from the start, but paitiently.

The link is after all, the only information we have had since the outset regarding the Beta, and is pretty much what Crytek intended at the start, the point of the thread is just to remind the people who demand and expect, what the intention of Beta is.

I have first hand experience of bug reporting as i have said, and the kind of rants rages and so on, that these people post when they decide, even not having paid for the privilage, that they dont like it.
