anyone think that... well crysis 2 aliens are a complete step backwards? imo the aliens of the first game were so much better, they looked better, and simply were better, i miss them :(
Comparing the Ceph gunship to the Scout is just meh, its slow and barely moves. Warrior vs Pinger, hands down warrior dominated the battlefield and was terrifying.
I also dislike the whole abandonment of the freezing atmosphere. Dont get me wrong i love this game but the single player left me frustrated and how much was just kicked away from the first game.

Visually? Crysis 1 aliens > Crysis 2 aliens
Gameplay wise? Crysis 1 aliens < Crysis 2 aliens
Who is comparing the scout to a gunship? No one I have seen. I think most people have enough common sense to not compare a robot smaller than a human to a flying destruction machine the size of a helicopter.
Warrior was better.
I miss the freezing thing too.

I agree 100%. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but in my opinion: Flying tripod things > humanoid robosquids Ice beams > energy weapons

the scout was the flying aircraft of the first game, admittidly it was much easier to kill, maybe 2-3 gauss shots, but it was always numorous an when it landed it was scary.
Gameplay wise, Crysis 2 aliens are easier to deal with.
and when i say warrior i meant hunter, warrior is actually the boss ship.

Why didn't the Crysis 2 ceph freeze everything like the ones in the original?

Because the freezing may have been a byproduct of their Terraforming technique. I suspect they didn't really "change", they just adapted. Scouts were too easily destroyed, despite being faster. Also, we have no idea but maybe each regions ceph evolved different methods of conversion. They've "been here all along" or whatever. It's plausible they're like separate colonies of the same species, so each one uses their technology in their own way.
Also, we didn't even get to see all of the ceph tech. When you play .. I think it's liberty? There's what appears to be something that LOOKS like a ceph gunship in the sky, but CONSIDERABLY larger, that periodically shoots down a helicopter trying to fight it. That thing is *massive*, even at the distance you are. It dwarfs the chopper attacking it. The regular gunships don't really.
A city is a different kind of combat environment than a jungle, or island. Plus, they seemed to be using humans as a biomass source for producing more nanites. The Cry1 aliens didn't even have environmental suits. They never came out of their ship(s). The ones in cry2 are like the ones from the Ceph ship but with nanosuit like environmental suits.
That's just my thoughts on the subject though.

Meanwhile the actual answer to all the questions in this thread is:
Crysis could not be done on consoles.

Crysis 2 aliens are too human like, I personally prefer the original, the new one is quite the retcon.

That's just my thoughts on the subject though. Agree with this, completely. Seems logical to think that the Ceph developed their tech in the 4 years between games so that they could engage people outside of their ships. They seem to enjoy better maneuverability in their exoskeletons, anyway. The exoskeletons probably keep them cold, too, so they don't need to annihilate their energy supply every time they want to hang out on a new continent. One thing that's weird to me is Hargreave's comments that the "owners are returning" and "they don't like what they found growing inside the fridge." But, they don't seem very well-adapted to earth's environment. Maybe they originally evolved during the ice age?
