Post subject: Can this game make a comeback? Posted: 05 25, 2011 /05:44 |

I'm not sure how many of you who check these forums remember when Battlefield: Bad Company 2 came out but the lag was unbearable for months. The community declined much like this one, with people saying the same "This game is amazing but I can't play it". It looked pretty hopeless for months after release and had gotten so bad at one point that it was hard to find a full match during the weekdays. Going into the summer (if my memory serves me right...and it probably doesn't) they finally patched it and the game has been rock solid ever since and ended up being one of the most successful shooters that year and still very much so to this day. Most people don't even remember that happening or bought the game afterwards and never knew it was in such a terrible state. It's pretty encouraging
In reference to Crysis 2, I think there' still hope. I know Battlefield had a bigger following already and it was more likely it would still find success but we all know that Crysis is an amazing game that deserves to be remembered as more than just wasted potential. Here's hoping what they've been doing lately will lead to a solid patch that will give this game a good run and a good following till this Fall's shooters *cough*Battlefield 3*cough* make you forget it ever existed.
I sure hope so.

I made a similar post 2 weeks into the launch of crysis 2, when everyone was complaining then about the lag. I told crytek to take their time with patching this game and so they are, slowly but surely. BBC2 had unbearable lag at one point where everyone was just lag skipping/jumping on the map. I knew they'd fix that mess and they did. Same thing with this game. Their fixing it and it's starting to show.

Maybe if they reworked the level requirements for accessing the other MP modes and fixed the lag, but honestly, there was practically ZERO advertisement for the game, so it's not surprising that not a lot of people picked it up (I saw ONE ad randomly airing on ESPN shortly after launch and that was it).

I think C2 will die in the next few months.
1) Unlike BFBC2 - there is no community support or discussion from the developers . People would be prepared to hang on if they knew there complaints were being worked on, but we have no idea what they're working on and when/if we will be getting a new patch. So people that don't want to wait just trade there games in, lots of people of this forum have left and never came back on and said they've traded the game in. Almost all my Xbox live friends have traded the game in as well, as well as my real-life friends.
2) The lobby system is the worst a MP has ever seen. People can't be arsed with it, the bad connections, failed migrations etc. I have made a whole thread on this alone.
3) Crytek don't care about community - They made us pay for DLC adding insult to injury, which not only that also further divided the small community into two camps; no-DLC and DLC. BFBC2 gives you extra maps etc for FREE! That is how you do it!
4) It's all stealth, stealth, stealth - A lot of people enjoy it, many don't. I've heard so many reviewers complain about it. My friends when beginning to play the game were annoyed with it too and didn't want to spend hours and hours to learn how to spot them. This is why I made a thread to try and combat it.

Everyone at crytek and ea are very busy with the E3 convention. Hopefully they'll start paying attention to this game. We need to be patient and keep supporting this game.

You seriously dont believe the whole of EA/Crytek is working on E3, do you? E3 has nothing to do with the lack of communication from Crytek.

Yep, I agree. I hate that their game tells new players to visit the forum , and they see the mess of post on here or they cannot find a game in other game modes after leveling up. Crytek can change this, if make changes to the Playlist. They need to condense them quickly.
