Hello. I am having a very annoying problem with crysis 2. I can't even get the dang thing installed, because it says:

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. Error code is 2203."

It says this when it reaches the 'registering product' phase of the installation; everything seems to have copied over to the HDD from the DVD. Does anyone know what I can do about this??

Strange. I've installed Crysis 2 multiple times from a single CD and never had that problem.

Are you installing it w/ administrator privileges? THat's the only thing i could think to check. Otherwise, yeah... might be something wrong with the CD.

Follow the instructions here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 .

Be sure to click on "Fix it for me" "Enable Windows Installer logging."

Next, run the Crysis 2 installation again and if you get any errors post a message with the msi*.log file in your Windows temp folder ( Start->Search->%TEMP% ) as an attachment.

Thanks for the replies! I have forgotten to mention I'm using windows XP (might be the issue here). Also my wifi is kinda f'ed up so I havent been able to see this until now :/ Will this 'fix it for me' application work on XP? I don't know, but I'm going to do some research...

I believe I am using admin privileges. I will check to see.

The "fix it for me" only enables/disables Windows Installer logging -- it doesn't actually "fix" anything. Read my post and the instructions in the Microsoft link again -- you need to reinstall Crysis 2 and post the installer log file in your Windows temp folder to the forums as an attachment.
