I never tested the High Resolution textures because it was recommended to have a pretty hefty PC to enable it, but now I found these benchmarks stating there isn't any performance hit when enabling it: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cry ... 983-7.html

What's your experience? I won't be on my PC until next Monday to test it.

I have 2GB of VRAM, and even though thats in Crossfire (I have a HD5970 aka two 5870s) all I notice is a bit of lag in complex scenes. Nothing more.

I never took a hit when using high res textures. However, I've only played C2 using my gaming PC which is well equipped to handle the load. That said though, there was not even a slightly noticeable change in my FPS, load heat, GPU or CPU usage when turned on. I'd say just go for it and if it acts up turn it back to off. You get the option in graphics menu once installed.
