I've noticed that the FY71 is a lot more common in multiplayer these days than ever before. Any particular reason why? I know a lot of people got the DLC with the maximum edition, it being on sale on both steam and origin recently, but I only purchased the non-dlc version. It's a solid weapon for sure, but why is it suddenly so prevalent?

Because it's a nice handicap weapon for new players. I am totally fine with new players using FY71 but it annoys me when I see a veteran or pro wiping the floor with it.

I see more servers pop up that removed the restriction and I'm okay with that too. Most of the pro or veterans already have that mutual respect not to use. But when they do.... >_<

......I rage at them over and over, by the end they get the idea not to use it......^.^

FY71 is overrated, it isn't really *that* good

because:
1. New players.
and
2. It's unlocked right away.

I use it when I have a higher ping than normal. Gives me a little better chance of not being slaughtered.

I think the FY71 is overrated and over-hyped. It doesn't seem to me to confer any special advantage over the Scar. I've used it occasionally and I personally don't prefer using it. I don't see what the controversy is about its effectiveness.

The idea that it gives the player a special advantage seems to me to be more psychological than actually real, possibly because it is seen as an exclusive item.

So exactly what concrete advantage does the FY71 have that makes people believe it's over-powered?
