Its **** nuts, that 1 **** guy at ea who isn't part of the dev team could fix this for me yet an entire company can't fix this for everyone else >:=(

doesn't work!
-startet c2
-multiplayer
-entered key
-back
--multiplayer again
--entered key again
---can't login, wrong logindetails bla
--closed c2 and started again---------- key is gone... again
installed c2 via eadm

Just done so and it worked.
New problem: May rank (former Rank 5 due to limited edition) is now Rank 1 and I can't use any "customize gear" options (done that before so it worked properly before this workaround).

ты уверен что вводишь именно нужный ключ, просто их там два, нужен тот каторый с дефисами, дефисы вводить обязательно, и еще я активировал его в download manager, на всякий :)

Fix did not work for me.
EDIT: Third seems like a charm, did work for me now. I hope it will still there tomorrow.

I have just managed to get the key to hold between restarts
Follow the steps 1-3 at top of page 11
Now go & join a server, even an empty server will do
Leave the session so profile data gets updated.
now it may work by:
Login in to gamespy
go to multiplayer & enter key
Now go & join a server, even an empty server will do
Leave the session so profile data gets updated.
