When both are in stock speeds, 670 wins, but since 7970 is such a good OCer that will compensate it.

I don't where you get your information from but here is a sample of the many tests, by the way I LMAO with guys saying the 670 is the same as the 7970. I was too looking for the 670 mainly due to the stabilty of the drivers as I was fed up with amd driver issues all the time in eyefinity and just standard 1080p display with my 5870 when they came out. After much deliberation and reading reviews and stats, I am going for the Sapphire HD7970 3GBoc as the extra 1gb vram on the 7970's helps with eyefinity and I have been told by someone who has two oc 670's in sli using nvidia stereo surround that this would be more beneficial for 5760 x 1080. At the end of the day it's what people choose I like both and used nvidia for ages till 4870's came out than I decided which was more cost effective and gave the best performance for the price. Nvidia has come up trumps with the new cards but that it only because they waited to see what amd was doing, makes business sense to get on top. Anyway here's a link for some stats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7c6YxxtCIc the choice is urs

Generally, you can't say "Nvidia" or "AMD" is better. It depends on the model.. :P

i like the 690 DESIGN ....love how it looks
now on to the topic
Nvidia does support nice feature like V sic something....dont know the name but it helps with V sic issues or lets say you want to cap your Frames on 80...... you can tell you GPU to stay at 80 so your GPU auto tunes itself to stay at that level which means it wont use more power than it needs to also the GPU wont heat up as much trying to pull 100 FPS since you only going for 80 you will have a cooler GPU
but in the end is what everyone says ...Look at the Drives, the GPU , and the Feature and pick the one you like the most
i say 2 680 or 690 since that card runs really cool
