I’ve come back to Crysis 2 after having a spell on recent shooters and becoming bored with them. The nanosuit is a great mechanic. The thrill of the freedom of movement, the speed, power jumping, sliding, parkour is something that no other FPS has.

I’ve really enjoyed getting back into C2, but have been thinking how great it would be to be able to play on the map pack maps. I haven’t bought them as by all accounts you simply can’t get a game in the map pack playlists. The community is very small, particularly on PS3 as it is.

I noticed EA was having a January sale on PSN, which included a price drop on Crysis 1. Come on EA, how about a price drop on the map packs to get more people buying the maps

To Crytek: dropping the price of the maps won’t do anything (hell, giving them away for free will do very little) unless they are integrated into the normal map rotation. Keep the retaliation/decimation playlists, but we need them available in the normal playlists so as to not splinter this small but dedicated community. That’s the only change I really want. I’d gladly pay the current asking price IF they were able to be played…

lol, same thing happened to me trying to reply.

well i am aware they said "no more updates" but if you don't ask you don't receive. There were many shocked people when they changed the playlists the first time

map pack price drop isn't an update, but could help people wanting to play them. They were a bit overpriced considering how they were implemented (seperate playlist) and extremely overpriced considering the numbr of people who haven't played a match on them (or very little)

gist of your great post?

I basically said that I also haven't played this game for a long time now and that I can't believe my baby will turn one year old in about two months. I had such a great time with this game.

Then I said, in a polite manner, that we won't be getting to see any new updates because of both Crytek and EA moving onto other projects. Even I have not bought the map packs although I consider myself the biggest Crysis 2 fanboy. Then I said if you would mind sharing a link for the Crysis PSN pricedrop, I'd check it myself on my PS3 but I only play on weekends. But maybe I'll go and check it myself now.

Well... I guess there will be no "next Crysis", Crytek told us that they would think about Crysis 3 if only Crysis 2 could make them much money, and I guess EA ain't givin any good support for Crytek. I would really like to understand why the fuc* this game ain't a successful FPS, because it's kinda different than others like BF, COD and others. I mean, it's all about old or modern wars, but Crysis is a sci-fi game that you can use a powerful armor and it's one of the many different things comparing Crysis 2 than other FPS games.
It would be much better if Crysis got too much propaganda like BF3. Some stupid players are motivated by ads and can't try games that ain't appearing on TV and many banners around internet, etc.

I don't think Crysis 2 was a failure sales wise. We only got sales number in June '11 indicating that Crysis 2 sold 3 million copies. I hope we're getting to see newer numbers by EA soon.

I used to be quite good at Crysis 2, but then I got Skyrim and Uncharted 3 and have been away from it for quite some time, and now, when I play, I'm no good. Not fun :( I went 5-17 in Terminal because as soon as I spawned some dude in cloak ran into me :/
I agree about the price drop, as I think that a lot mroe people would play on them. Whats the map pack like though, anyway?

Crysis price drop, seems to be half price, surely they could do the same for the map packs

http://www.ps3trophies.org/news/news-55 ... twork.html

this only mentions EU, but it also available in Aus, so I imagine it will happen everywhere eventually

@ FishySeven: that's the problem, even the people who payed for them wouldn't be able to tell you what they are like, hardly encourages other people to buy them now that most people have abandoned the game. This is why I said even giving them away would not improve things with the idiotic decision to have them only available in a separate playlist. I am tempted to buy decimation for the FY71 alone just to freshen things up, steep price for one gun and a smoke grenade.

Would be so refreshing to be able to play on new maps, if only they would let us

Huh that price drop came rather fast thank you for the link.
It's still beyond my very limited understanding why the map packs have not seen any sort of discount. I'm telling you if they ever bother to offer the map packs for half their prices I'll buy both, the FY71 seems to be the only weapon with recoil in Crysis 2.
