Why is this so popular. Every time I'm up late looking for a server, The Classic game modes are always full. Do people really hate the Nanosuit that much???
I honestly can't stand playing Classic and could think of other games I'd rather play than Classic mode. When I play Crysis I want to play with the Nanosuit.
I just don't get how Classic mode can be that popular with some people. I guess to each their own.

The classic mode has become more and more popular over the last year. They wanted to attract COD players and COD players like that mode. Another reason was the cheating. Seems people feel they get better gameplay with less cheaters in the Classic servers. Find a server you like and get on it. It may take a while but others will start joining and soon you'll have a game

I don't think the rise in popularity of Classic has anything to do with Call of Duty lol. Even CoD is way more fast-paced than classic. I think primary reason is because of new players. Face it, they get destroyed in nanosuit modes (I sure as hell did) so Classic mode allows them to get used to this game's firing, aiming and basics at a far slower pace and no complications. I played classic for a long time at the lower levels, helped me learn some stuff and not die so much.
After the Steam/Max Edition sales there was a huge surge of new players, hence Classic mode becomes way more popular. For the more experienced players, new players are basically target dummies in all modes with nanosuits lol.

Classic Mode is actually Camping Mode. I hate games where I can barely hear any gunfire. Let the bullets and nanosuits fly everywhere around!

Maybe they don't want to fight almost invisible players? I haven't seen this in the 360 playlist for a long time., not that I'd miss it much, I play Crysis for the Nanosuit too.

Nah I'm a CoD player and I don't really enjoy classic mode, if you play CoD and your not one of the diehard campers chances are you want things to be as fast paced as possible, bumping into enemies every few seconds and you far more likely to get that from regular game types with the nanosuit than in classic mode.
Classic modes alright for the novelty of it but after playing around with the nanosuit for a long time it feels like your playing in slow motion on classic!

New players? Nah. Classic became the most popular game mode within the first year of release. Players got tired of the lag, the hackers and yeah, they probably didn't care much for the Nano suit either. The classic mode kept this game alive

Classic mode is more popular because it is easier. It's still slower paced, no stealth, and easier to kill someone. Of course, it's an FPS, so the skill limit is almost infinite, but relative to normal mode, it's easier. This is not an insult, so no one take it personally. Classic mode is a good way to warm up/train DSG skills.

(Crysis 2 Multiplayer Dev Blog #3)
So tell us about this "Classic mode".
" Well we really wanted to give the player that " CARRYING SAND BAGS " feel. So far were really happy with with how its turning out. Nothing says elite marine like running out of breath after Running six feet then passing out. "
What else can you tell us?
" Well one of the many neat features were adding for classic mode is not being able to swim. If you jump in say the ocean you immediately sink to the bottom and die."
So lets move on to game types in classic. What can we look forward to?
"Well my personal favourite is "TIA". Basically Two teams of either Cell or Marines compete to score points. Points are awarded to each player For not running out of breath and passing out."
Wow sounds intense!

The majority of the players play Classic mode, TIA, whether it's easier, sandbags on their backs, call it what you want. The Classic mode is currently the most popular mode and has been so for a longer period than the Standard mode. Nothing wrong with it. It's just that many players (including the noobs) like it better. It's what's kept this game going and that's a fact. Because of this fact, Crytek will not take the Classic Mode out of Crysis 3. I'm not knocking the standard mode but the Classic mode has outlived the Standard mode in Crysis 2 and will continue to do so. If you want to argue this point, you just want to argue.
