Post subject: Network connection failure Posted: 11 24, 2012 /12:44 |

After I start up the game, it prompts me to enter my mycrysis account credentials. I never had an account before so I attempted to create an account in-game.
But for some reason, it returns me with a Network connection failure error after I submit my details. So I went on here and create an account. But, I still can't sign-in.
Is there a way to rectify this? I tried logging in with my firewall disabled but I have no luck signing-in.
Before anyone asks, I bought this game on Steam so I have a legit CD key.

A quick thing to try is stopping and restarting the ' Base Filtering Engine' service as described by hawx-303i here: topic47912If no luck there, first set your router to use UPnP if it isn't already. Then, forward these ports to your machine: TCP: 80, 64100, 6667, 29900, 2990, 2891 UDP: 27900, 27901, 64100 A good place to go for help with router configuration is http://portforward.com/. Pick your router model, your game, and follow the pictorial. Let us know how it works out!

Thanks for the suggestion.
I also might try to sign in via Ethernet. As I'm using WiFi at the moment.

Tried restarting the Base Filtering Engine service. Still can't sign-in.
Tried connecting my PC directly to the router, same result.
I'm at a loss here. Tried to use port forwarding, the site has my router listed but the pictograms are of an outdated firmware version so it doesn't correspond to my current router's firmware.
It's a D-Link DIR-615.

Can you set your machine as DMZ in the router? Its too insecure to be a long-term solution, but it will rule in/out whether port forwarding is the issue... A D-Link I have calls it "Enable DMZ host" under "Firewall"

Just a heads up : These ports and the forwarding instructions can be found in your "Crysis 2\Support\readme.txt" file. jdb2

While the startup videos are playing, press the ~ key to bring up the console, tell me if you see any 'failed to bind to port' or any other errors.
