Post subject: What promises do we have with Crysis 3? Posted: 10 28, 2012 /06:23 |

Seriously though; How can they completely abandon their community and all of their previous work and expect any of us to buy a new product from them? Am I getting a discount because I own one of their now un-supported products? What happens when Crysis 2 ceases to function completely? Do I get a refund?
I like the gameplay, however, if C1 and C2 are par for the future of C3 I can see no reason to ever purchase C3.
Opinions? Answers?

When a part of my computer fails I can easily replace whatever's broken; are you implying that Crysis 1 & 2 are going to become open source so we can fix all of our own problems? You don't offer a "new in box" product that you know is completely broken in a store, do you?

C2 has its flaws, but I have been playing it since day 1 (more than 18 months), and having lots of fun with it. I can say it's "completely broken".
That's not to say I'm happy with support by Crytek and EA, I'm not. But C2 it's not going to "cease to function completely", it's mostly a single player game that you can play in your computer as many years as you want. Multiplayer will die, as in any other game, when there aren't active servers.

I highly doubt multiplayer will ever die for CounterStrike, just to put things in perspective.
I didn't mean that it was completely broken yet, I just meant that eventually through lack-of-patching, this game will become unplayable online which is completely idiotic as it is sold with both offline and online functionality.
Point being, what is there to show that C3 won't be ignored and lose all support as C2 has?

Nah, they said they tried something in Crysis 2 with the CryEngine 3. And they can concentrate now on Story and Support and stuff.

Crysis 3 multiplayer will rock your world with its undeniable polish, depth of play, and standard-setting levels of customer support. The multiplayer may get off to a slow start, however: Many players won't be able to break away from the subtle chess match required to successfully engage the singleplayer AI. The popular culture will become littered with phrases like "Bitey Me!" and "Just Fvic it!" and "Totally toxjq!". A new dance craze, the RTR150, becomes a global phenomenon.
Short of that, I'm gonna be pissed.

Lol. Nice CH4NCE.
However, to answer your question: None yet; game developers don't tend to make promises as they are not really allowed to and of course they don't want to tempt fate just like in hospitals - doctors are not allowed to make certain promises to their patients.
