I thought about a way to inform crytek about our experiences and opinions regarding their communiy work. So I made this thread (after participating in a similiar post on crysis-hq.com).

Write down your opinions about the game support and tell us about your experiences with their support adresses.

Additionally this is a poll, so feel free to rate crytek's efforts
-> a 1 if you are/were highly satisfied (best grade)
-> a 6 if you were/are highly disappointed (worst grade)

I voted for 5 because they failed pretty bad, but they released some patches in the beginning so I couldn't give the worst grade after all.

I voted the 4, because i had to rate the Community and Cryteks support.

I believe it's Crytek's "community support" and "game support". You're not rating community, but support for community...

right. the title was misleading sorry. I fixed it.

My rate is 4. Here is why:
In the open beta, the game looked really promising. I liked it very much and I was eager to get even more. After release, many people of the community were upset including me about major bugs etc, but I was hopeful too about hearing the official communications about the patches. After a while, patches came, but there were no real fixes at all, but I still enjoyed the game. After release of 1.9 patch, I totally lost my hope on game-braking fixes, but I continued to play, since it's my favourite game of all. I wouldn't enjoy playing other FPS games online and my team is playing Crysis 2, so I stick to it.
IMHO the game had high potentials, but other stuff (I won't go into detail), got in the way.
Hope to see the opposite in Crysis 3, I would love to rate it 1. :)

OK I was pretty harsh.. I have been playing games online for many years, MMO's & shooters of various flavours. I spent some time as a spokesperson for a gaming community and had a lot of interaction with the developers giving them detailed feedback and information which may or may not be acted on (a program set up by that gaming company somewhere between 2002 - 2005 and is still running). So i have seen customer support and the pressures faced by those dealing with those tasks from both sides of the fence.

I have found Cryteks abandonment of bug fixing/patching/updating the game to be a significant factor in assessing my purchase of any further games, further the lack of any real anti cheating strategies to be a major source of frustration, especially as I really love the game itself.

Of all the games I have ever played this has been the worst so I voted accordingly.

I hope this experience isnt carried through to crysis 3 but I find it very hard to be super excited about it because of this.

@Blutaar: In my opinion, you should rename the thread to: "rate crytek's/EA's community/game support".

Anyway, I wanted to go for 5 and explain it by the same thoughts as StorMaj did. But to be honest, I can't forgive them the approach they took by hotfixing some specific problems (which should had been really fixed), what resulted to forbidding the most of the command variables.

Because of this, 6 is my final choice.

Crytek already admitted in a C3 interview that the community support for Crysis 2 was bad, and that they hope to change this for Crysis 3 with cool new features for the community. I voted taking this into account. With support Crysis 2 could easily have been the perfect FPS game.

I can't really judge Crytek on Crysis 2, it was expected that there would of been problems with it, plus I loved it :) I just don't agree with them keeping us in the dark a lot... maybe it's better to keep us in the dark rather than telling us that they long started Crysis 3 development and that Crysis 2 won't have no more support.
