Post subject: New to Crysis 2 ... almost ... Posted: 10 23, 2012 /10:05 |

Hello all, I recently bought Crysis 2 again to get back the feeling of Crysis gameplay and being bored of BF3. Also with Crysis 3 almost around the corner i wanted to experience the nanosuit experience since it´s been a long time. When i played the game when it first came out i was struggling a lot with connection issues that used to plague Crysis 2 online. For me, Crysis 2 multiplayer was the highest point in this console generation regarding multiplayer ... if it wasn´t for it´s huge problems online.
Now, i try to join a multiplayer game and i saty alone in the lobby ... for ages. Is there any gaming online at all? I haven´t bought the new map packs does it have anything to do with me not finding any games?
I have a good internet connection, NAT always open, and lag free on any other shooter.
I´m asking the community help to see if this game is still alive online and do you need the new maps to play it.
Thanks.

If you live in Portugal and have your xbox set to the location too try setting a new location like UK or Germany it'll help your matchmaking.
Try experimenting till you get the right feel of the connection

Judging by the answers given ... it hasn´t changed much a year after. Was there a reason given by Crytek for the fact that the game is broken online? Did they ever explained why games like CoD and BF run smoothly and problem free? Will they address the problems for the upcoming title?
I will try later on and see if changing location helps. Also if i get a few friends to create a private room 6 vs 6 will i i have problems connecting/playing?
Thanks guys
P.S - it´s nice to see there´s still someone out there :)

Cold hard truth is, No. They haven't addressed the problem and as much as I know haven't posted anything on the reasoning behind migrating host issues, extreme lag, extreme delay and extreme frame rate drop. But I still love them game. More than ever actually. Trust me bro. Its not the smoothness of a game that keeps you playing. Its the community. We've got a pretty solid group of people. Around 50 60 of us maybe. And surprisingly new players are showing up every week. And sticking around! A big reason why, is the community we have going here. People like you come on the forums and see there is a bunch of friends playing together having a good time while gaming hard(I do have a boner while playing). So put two and two together, crysis being one of the best game experiences and the undying community this game has too offer. So please don't judge off the lack of smoothness, play because you have friends here :)

I do understand you Doktor - i love this game online although it´s flaws. I am 37 and have played most of the shooters around and by far this is the one i feel more innovative and grounbreaking. Right now, and after playing the game a few nights in a row I can say that my biggest grip now is the level 50 guys - they wreck the game for me and for the rest of the noobs :) I understand that most of the level 50 guys haven´t stopped playing the game since the release, and for that reason and also inherent skill they completely own the battlefield. It´s impressive how sometimes i pick the scoreboard and i see a guy with 30-1 - that´s ridiculous... I play BF3 for quite some time and whenever i face level 100 guys you can see they are good but you can fight with them toe to toe and i think that´s an impossible mission on Crysis 2. I want to get better before i leave in anger but it´s damn hard :)

Crysis 2 can sometimes be cheap it's not your skills letting you down, it's the flawed game.
Crysis 3 will be more balanced and with some luck of this community we can get some support for it

Hope you are right Ceph! I stopped playing Crysis 2 a month after the release - and believe me i have tried like hell to love and play this game that time - instead i was more love and hate. Then i started to come this forum and see what was going on about the community and the feedback gaved by devs ... guess what? ANGER, people were ragging about lag, framedrop issues, and above all NO SUPPORT from Crytek. For me that was more than i could bear. I have reached level 37 despite all the online problems, and i had a big chunk of them allied to the fact that i live in Portugal. Now a year after i come to the forum and i see that the community left is very polite and accepted the game flaws and love it as it is - and that´s fine for me. I have bought this damn game twice! The first time i went thru the singleplayer twice. Now in preparation for Crysis 3 i bought it again to see if the online was any better and to finish the singleplayer a third and final time - that shows the love i have for this game. Even my 5 year old kid loves Alcatraz :)
Let´s hope that Crysis 3 addresses all the problems Crysis 2 had. Crytek must believe that if the online isn´t a solid experience people will not buy the game again and they must provide support to the community, we pay for their work and we deserve respect.

Too many great games coming out to go back to Crysis 2, Assassin's Creed 3 and Halo 4 will simply destroy everything in it's wake, that games matchmaking is godly, it's gonna ruin other games for us because we'll always compare it to the greatest matchmaking game in the world. The game that started matchmaking and perfected it If you’re real bored read below at your own risk www.cephgaming.com/forum/m/2059068/view ... -law-termsPossibly give you a headache

That was a good reading sir. Very self-explanatory and clearly you are a HALO admirer, i have nothing against it it´s just that it´s not my cup of tea. Battlefield 3 still is the best all-round shooter for me. CoD it´s fun (fun a while) and Crysis 2 still is the best concept shooter for me, it´s different and for that i consider it special. I hope Crytek is humble enough to learn from others like BUNGiE and deliver a decent online experience. What a hell even BF3 that has a lot going on at the same time doesn´t suffer 1/10 what Crysis 2 suffer.
