Hey guys,

I am having problems with Crysis 2.

I have tried to install it, then now i have to re-install it and for some reason it wont let me install it again, it says that there is already a game file on my pc. Any idea where the hidden files may be hidden??

Or can anyone offer any advice???

How did you install it? Was it a digital download? did you activate a key? If so, via Steam or EA?

In general, Crysis 2 readily installs on top of itself.

To add to Geronimo's question: are you using the same install method the second time as the first? For example, the Origin client will sometimes get confused when another non-Origin install was present...

I installed it then activated my key through EA, it then asked me to download 14 gigs worth of data.

Should i have done that??

Hi, you don't want to look for files stored on your hard drive, but on the information stored in your registers. What you should do:

1) Open start menu and type in "regedit" to open registry editor.
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall if you have 32bit OS or to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall if you're running 64bit one.
3) Search for Crysis 2 uninstall folder in that registry node (if you tried to install different versions of Crysis 2, it is possible that there are multiple folders carrying Crysis 2 uninstall info. In that case, you have to do the following step for all these Crysis 2 folders).
4) Right click on the Crysis 2 uninstall folder and select to "Export" and save that registry information into the file.
5) Delete the Crysis 2 uninstall folder from registers.
6) Try to install Crysis 2 again.

If it is still not possible to install Crysis 2, double click on the file you created in step 4, confirm the registry change and then delete that file.
If the procedure was successful, you can delete the file created in step 4.

So, you put the key into Origin?

yea and then its asking me to download like 14gigs worth of data. Do I have to do that????

Because Origin can't detect that you already have it installed. You have the option of using the disk version, or downloading it through Origin. Origin is just inviting you to install it, it doesn't know the difference. If you already have the disk version installed, just go with that. No need to install the Origin version.

thats the problem im having, i cant get the on disk content to work. So atm im just downloading it through origin unless i can figure out another way to get the disk to work
