I'm sure if you've played Crysis 2 you'll know what I'm talking about. Stealth kills, while serving a purpose, the purpose is minimal. Stealth kill animations should keep you in stealth, that's the whole point is to do a quite and invisible kill, and when as soon as you uncloak in the animation you're screwed. I would really like to see stealth kills be a better part of the game than previously. This is something that doesn't seem like it would be too hard to fix, so please do us a favor and fix it.
Thanks for the information man! I would still like to see it just be part of the animation to remain in cloak. If you can shoot a bow and arrow while in stealth, you should be able to plunge a knife into someone's throat in stealth.
Heres a video of the Stealth in Crysis 2 I put together when C2 came out. I'm not sure how much the stealth changed in the patches leading upto now. I think the stealth kills were pretty nice. I did not play C2 for long at all though in comparison to C1.
Crysis 1 did not have grabs online, though offline they were great (throwing koreans at objects etc), online stealth was mainly only used, if at all, to hide, and make reloads if low hp/energy.
Well, unless you stealth kills someone when everyone is watching at him (see Crysis 3 interactive trailer) there is little chance you get detected. Still, as you said, if you can shoot an arrow reaming stealth why not the stealth kill. I the end I believe they decided this way to make stealth kill useful but not super easy.
Now the real problem for me is that we have knife but we don't use it for the melee, why Crytek? Why to we have to punch people when we have a knife?
