Sdub, I'm calling you out on this one. I've heard you've done your research on mechanical keyboards.

I've heard that USB 3.0 does not have the polling issue that you find with USB 2.0 keyboards. One of the disadvantages of USB 2.0 keyboards is the constant polling, whereas keyboards with the older PS/2 interface don't have this problem.
If indeed polling is eliminated in USB 3.0, then this very well could be an acceptable option in a keyboard. This might be something that SDub with his expertise might clarify.

Thanks for the suggestions/comments guys. I'll do more research on USB 3.0 vs PS/2.

I don't know if this is gonna help you or not, but I've been using Steelseries 7G (PS2) for almost a year and I wouldn't go to another keyboard anymore...

Dang it! I missed out on a topic that I love! Everything you ever need to know about mechanical keyboards you an probably find at one of two sites: http://www.overclock.net/f/373/keyboardsOR http://web.archive.org/web/201011172058 ... +and+Links(the reason the link is so long, is because originally the site geekhack.com had got R00TWORMED, and they lost their wikis, so this is a temporary site for all the amazing information) When it comes down to picking out a mechanical keyboard, as someone already said, a lot should be attributed to preference. With that being said, certain companies use lower quality boards than other companies. For instance, Ducky, Filco, and I think Rosewill all take from the same OEM for their boards and they're phenomenal. Personally, I own a Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja with Red Cherry MX switches. I LOVE it. There are tons of things to consider when buying a mechanical keyboard, but looks like I'm too late to sway your mind. I did a little research on USB 3.0 v.s. 2.0 and it looks like you still have the polling issue. So if your KB doesn't come with a USB to PS/2 adapter, pick one up! They're cheap and save on latency!
