I'll try to keep this updated as more questions are answered (assuming this is actually legit and they are not making up questions)

We’re back from Gamescom, and we have a bunch of Ask CryTek answers for you! A week ago, Alberto Aguilar asked us “How does NYC end up in a nanodome and why is it decrepit?”

Crysis 3 producer Mike Read's responds below:

“So as Crysis 3’s story goes, this is not the only dome that has been built.

“After the events of Crysis 2, the CELL corporation were the ones that took claim for all the work that had been done to assist in defeating the Ceph. In the name of “Global Security” the public and politicians around the world blindly sold their future to CELL in return for their protection from the alien threat. In doing this, they also sold control of the world’s energy resources to CELL. CELL found a way to tap into the Ceph’s technology, which provides them with a rich and infinite energy resource.

"The Nanodome itself, and the strange alien energy contained within, has caused anything and everything inside to break down at an accelerated rate. Not only that, but it has brought about an enormous amount of plantlife. We’ve really done a lot to combine these two elements to create what we call an urban jungle and focus on the 7 Wonders which can be found within the dome.”

We have plenty more “Ask CryTek” Gamescom answers for you, so stay tuned this week for more insider information on Crysis 3!

In the Crysis 3 “Hunter” multiplayer game mode, each of the hunters are granted permanent cloaking, but they can only use the bow, melee attacks, or the environment itself to take down the troopers before the round ends.

“So as in Crysis 1, Prophet will be speaking. Not only that, but there will be a lot more dialog in there than anything we have done previously in the series.

“In Crysis 1, the story was very broken up and there really wasn’t a lot of time spent on connecting with you as a player. Crysis 2 lacked the dialog of one, but really spent a lot of time on the tech side of the Crysis universe.

“In Crysis 3, we’ll be expanding the story elements and character development a lot more than we had done in the previous games. I think that fans of the fiction will be pleased with this overall and find some of those deep questions being answered.”

I just love how they answer stupid questions. We already knew that Prophet will speak, from the Gameplay Demo.

The best question anyone could ask is: Is Crytek reconsidering the voice actor for Pyscho in Crysis 3 since Sean Chapman would like to do it? But not one has asked that one.
