I have been a PC gamer for sixteen years.

I bought Crysis 2 on EA Origin since atnth time it wasn't available on Steam.

That was a big mistake. I only have two games on Origin and Ive had periods when I could play neither game. With BF3 Origin kept sending me to the store to buy it again!

Now with Crysis 2, I am in an endless activation loop. Each time I launch the game, I am told to activate it. When I do, I am told activation was a success. When I launch the game again, I am asked to activate the game. This is endless.

I have probably bought a dozen games on Steam and have never had a problem, that's a zero percent failure rate.

I have two games on Origin and have a 100% failure rate. It's a disgrace!

EA support have been utterly hopeless. I never, ever want anything to do with Origin or EA again.

It's also sad that we must preorder C3 on origin.

I can't play BF3 when I want but when Origin is not freezing...
Luckily my Crysis2 is not related to any of those gay systems.

Same :) I bought the disc from the shops. I always do.. I'm not gonna download it from a site because what if in the future the site goes down.. ea goes bankrupt (or something like that) and i lose everything... all my games are on discs

I have, repeatedly.

They have failed to supply a solution.

They have proved useless.

Edit: I forgot to say that I have played and completed the game successfully. No problem. But now, when I return to the game, I am in this endless activation loop.

I have never had a problem with Steam, in fact, Steam seams like magic to me. I have been using it for many years, I have rebuilt my PC several times and I just install Steam, log in, and like a puppy dog it just wants to know which of my purchased games I want to download. Simple, no nonsense.

Steam, 0% failure rate over many years and many purchases.
Origin, 100% failure rate with just two games purchased.

Yes, when EA support can't help you, they wont admit they can't (at least EA live chat)... they just start making you a fool, because they go with "alternative troubleshoot steps" where they copy-paste some random steps for "solution", and pretend to have excesive kindness like "don't worry, I will do everything to help fix your problem".

They're like "Chill the f-ck out, I got this!!!"

and they're actually like "I have no idea what I'm doing"

Cevat (Crytek CEO) said that they're still not sure whether Crysis 3 will be Origin-exclusive or not. As much as I'm dying to play C3 for multiplayer, if I can't buy Crysis 3 off the shelf on a CD and if I have to use Origin to launch it...I'm going to be soooo freakin pissed...I just don't know what I'm going to do.

BF3 is the one and only game that I purchased via Origin, and even that game gave me a solid 1 week of activation/connection headaches, talking to EA support was the equivalent of talking to a robot that runs on money. Pretty sure they've already outsourced their customer support to places like India/Thailand, so not only are they robotic, but they have a shaky grasp of english at best.

Can you imagine if you had to launch C3 multiplayer via a web server browser like you launch BF3? That will be SOOO painful.

Open Origin > Sign into Origin > open game browser > launch Crysis 3 > opens a web page > select multiplayer > select server > launch game > connecting > logging into server (potential error) > loading game (potential error) > loading level > yaaaaaaay now I can f**king PLAY.

I hope with all my heart they offer it Origin-free, stick to ingame server browser and utilize PunkBuster or alternative anti-cheat services. That's pretty much all they have to do to NOT screw up Crysis 3.
