Post subject: Hunter Mode's Unlimited Energy? Posted: 08 15, 2012 /11:53 |

I am among a few I've seen on the community who sees the severe potential for problems in the newly posted "Hunter Mode" in Crysis 3. In the gameplay video we saw that the Hunters had Unlimited energy in Cloak. I believe this is a huge mistake. Not only can you shoot the bow in cloak, but you can also now melee in cloak. Now what stops people from simply running around cloaked spamming melee? What stops the Hunters from picking off the CELL one by one from afar when they can't be seen? The mode should be balanced, and unlimited energy is by no means a way to balance it. If the energy is limited, then CELL has a chance, since they have Nanodisruptors and automatics, whereas the Hunters have a bow and cloak. If the Hunters have unlimited energy, CELL will simply never win, because the Hunters only have to kill to increase their numbers, and they can hardly be seen from afar where they'll be firing in cloak. CELL needs some counter to the Hunter's cloak. Some might say "the nanodisruptor IS a counter", I say you are wrong. How many times out of 10 do you hit someone with a grenade? If it's low, you throw randomly. If it's high, you always see the person and throw the nade directly at them. But since you can barely see the Hunters, what are the true odds you HAPPEN to hit them with one? 5%? 1%? I would say some feasible counters would be Threat Tracer, Proximity Alarm, or Max Radar for CELL. Like I keep repeating, if CELL has no TRUE counter to the Hunter's cloak, CELL will never have a chance.
So please, Crytek. Since you can fire while cloaked and melee while cloaked, make cloak balanced and please limited the amount of energy. Or make a real counter to the cloak, not some fancy "throw this and occasionaly you'll hit the Hunter" device. Hunters can always be cloaked, so CELL should have something to use that almost always helps them find them or kill them. Otherwise all you'll get is a bunch of cloaked Hunters running around spamming the OHK melee, and the mode will die.

Someone said to me if you pay attention you can see cloak enemies from far away but I don´t buy it, I played both crysis games and the only times I could see cloaked enemies where from close range, a shadow or in crysis 1 with the sun highlighting them.
So ya, the hunters can just shoot from as far away as possible and win like that. And once they kill 2 or 3 guys they can play more offensive and closer because they will have backup in chase they die.

But I noticed it seems that the arrows leave a trail from where they were shot, but to me that doesn't seem like enough to help CELL out. -Zanthir

Sorry for double-post, his reply nudged itself above mine somehow. -Zanthir

Seriously, what's with people on this forum and bitching about any form of negative feedback? If something looks wrong and you want it fixed, better be safe than sorry.

guys, it may look like it's unlimited suit energy but I highly doubt it. Crytek is not that stupid to allow a game mode to be setup like that. Probably it was scripted that way for the purpose of showing the game mode. Besides, C3 have 6 months before launch date.

While I agree with you that no one could possibly be "stupid enough" to allow a mode to be like this, I am of the firm belief in leaving nothing to chance. You wouldn't think Crytek would ignore their community, but they did. You wouldn't think that Crytek would support their game briefly then sweep it under the rug, but they did. I would rather voice my opinion in the hopes it is heard and makes a difference rather than get into the mode, see unlimited energy and then find out that Crytek didn't remove it because no one said anything against it. I'm not saying my comments or this thread will do anything, I'm just saying I'd be foolish not to try. -Zanthir

Was a promo trailer, do you not recall the C2 MP promo's where airstomp was killing groups of people with min. time in air? Cool factor wins out over actual game mechanics when announcing something.

No, it wasn´t on the trailer.
On gamescom they made a live gameplay of that mode and the hunters had unlimited stealth and even EMP grenades would uncloak them for only 2 seconds.
