I think that a demo is necessary to get the word out about Crysis 3, just as it did for Crysis 1. Its got loads of negative attention right now!

Especially since:
More people pirate games when there is no demo. A "demo" and not some beta actually helps to reduce piracy by allowing people to try out the game early for free before paying with their hard earned cash for it.

The demo for Crysis 1 did get a lot of attention, when i checked ea games, and I'm suspected it should have been the same for the sequel Crysis 2.

Because reviews and videos will not prove anything without first hand experience.

I don't share this opinion but if people get the idea that there's not enough to set this game apart from others and a potential customer reads a review that says "GREAT GAME but it's just like xyz", that's one less copy sold. Since Crysis 3 is pretty much sure to become quality entertainment you cannot go wrong with a demo and personally, when I see a new demo on Marketplace I immediately like the developer and franchise more just for being transparent, for putting their product out there for me to test before I buy it.

A demo is a must. I need to see if I'm able to run the game smoothly! Many people pirate the game just too see if they can run it!
And of course, there is the gameplay we need to see :P

We need a Beta on the xbox, hopefully 3 months before release

Actually, we need a demo. A beta won't do anyone any favors, especially with all the old hate talk going around about beta's. And not just for the xbox, but for the ps3 and pc especially.

Especially for the PC! PC has the most bugs and needs more redesigning. And usually PC players are the one that really know what needs to change for the game to become good!

I think a Demo is still more important then ever. If the demo would be out about now, no one would be interested in downloading an unfinished beta build.

Back to a pc demo, it's in Sp as shown recently. Yet what about the tiny possibility for an Sp demo for the pc. Plus an Sp demo would give us all a theatrical look into crysis 3 for the best bit.

The crysis 3 demo deserves far more than just one platform console to be honest. This is were the op's topic comes in, why doesn't Crytek just make a demo already?

I like this idea of a demo. Personally, I think a demo is necessary, and a MP beta would be nice as well, as this would help locate bugs that would otherwise plague the game later. In my honest opinion, they should release the demo and then have polls as to what features seemed nice and what would need improving (i.e. a Speed Mode?) and then they could go with what the majority demands and change what needs changing.

Either way, a demo is something we need, but I'm not sure we'll get it seeing as the finished HUD isn't going in till the end and I'm sure if they released a demo with the HUD from Crysis 2 they'd get hated on a lot.

A Crysis 3 demo would be nice, though, I prefer a great Sp experience over any Mp setting anytime. Both being made available, would make a nice possibility.
