I had an fVic member (PURIST) today complain (actually let's be more diplomatic and say comment) about SCARAB LASER AE3. He asked why I used it and I said because I think it is a good combo. To which he replied that I shouldn't because it's not allowed in tourneys, to which I replied I am not a tourney class player ;)

His specific argument was that it increases strafe speed but this is by design and is primarily why I use it and I think it still takes some skill to use well because you have to adjust your aim to counter your strafe . i.e. if you do it properly you follow the target as you strafe left to right.

Anyway, just wondered what people think because I don't remember seeing anything about this recently. Personally I think it is getting a bit extreme about how there is so much conflict regarding various loadouts .. FY71 and Scar Laser I can understand but just because AE3 makes it hard to snipe at I don't see why this would be banned .. not that I expect to be playing tourneys anytime soon :P

On another loadout topic, I have been accused a number of times of unlimited energy hack (not by clan players of course) when using Energy Enhance III + Stealth Enhance III + Mobility Enhance III because when on a good roll of getting kills I have enough energy to spam cloak and nanovision and constantly sprint which I also find a pretty effective shotgun technique on (busy) small levels.

It's fine. I don't see anything wrong with scarab+laser+AE3. Scarab can produce alot of recoil and there is where the AE will come in. It's not "glitched" (as some people may say) like the scar+laser. It's like saying why use AE when using a pistol...

Scar + Laser is wrong, not Scarab + laser

Scarab + laser sigh hmm... nevermind but AE3 is not allowed on many servers and tournaments cause your strafe is very fast (speed nub) if you know what I mean :P i prefer using this combination: scarab + laser sight + weapon pro :)

Use scarab single shot and point fire enhance.. It's a beast!

Try it Out with a Friend. Let him shoot you with scarab + laser + Aim Enhance 3 and you'll see what we're Talking about. And Jared you are wrong, there is no bug but, it's actually exactly annoying like Scar + Laser.

Technically using AE is not wrong but in terms of fairness I'm inclined to think otherwise. I can't complain if someone uses it because by definition AE3 increases strafe speed. However it's a game design error in my opinion.
