Okay GTX 690, you cost me $1050.00 but I dont feel I'm getting my monies worth.
I previously had GTX 570's in SLI and with the 690 I'm only getting about 10 FPS better in multiplayer.
I use MSI Afterburner and noticed that one of my GPU's isn't working at max capacity. It runs between 70 - 85%. I'm not even using DX11 in game because it makes it worse. No matter which driver version I'm using.
Can anyone else confirm their GTX 690 underperforms in Crysis 2? I'm starting to wish I had gone with 2 GTX 680's and SLI'd them myself.

Why the heck do you need so much power? AFAIK you only need it when you play with 3 monitors on a resolution of 2560x1440, etc.

most of my setup is listed in my profile on here.
i7 2600K @ 4.2 mhz H60 CPU cooler GTX 690 ASUS P67 WS Revolution Corsair 850 PSU 16GB Corsair Vengance DDR3 1600
I play at 1920 x 1080 but use a 120hz monitor, 23" ASUS. I have a second Dell @ 1200p but not using it for games since it's only 60hz refresh rate. I use it to monitor my GPU and CPU while playing (MSI Afterburner, ASUS Suite)
Well on some maps I get low FPS like Sanctuary. I see between 60 - 120 depending on where I'm at in the map. Open maps tend to have worse framerates as expected due to the larger field of view. However, I should be getting more than 60 FPS at any time with a 690.

It's called checking reviews before you buy...it's generally known that Crysis 2 doesn't scale properly with multi-GPU. GTX680 SLI only manages 90fps (vs 60fps single card). You're kinda stuck until either nVidia or Crytek address the issue.
I also use a 120hz Asus but have dropped settings down to Medium-High so I get atleast ~80 fps with a single GTX580. You can try the same if you want to average 120fps, turn off DX11.
Also overclock your i7 to 4.5ghz, should be fairly easy with an H60 and will help with the 690's performance (by just a bit).

Hey deftonian, i recently (2 months) upgraded from sli 570 to gtx 690, i know what you mean. Honestly I just found some settings that work for me, i'm currently getting 80-90fps (frame rate target of 90 with precisionX), 1920x1080, all maxed out, dx11, high res. previously with 570 sli i would get 60-80fps on extreme settings. Im using latest nvidia drivers. i have vsync off both in nvcp and in game. I also use d3doverider to force on tripple buffering, but not vsync. also i overclock my 690 gpu clock +135 and mem clock +147 with evga precisionX. Also make sure you are toggling vsync on, then back off again in game, i dont know why but i get much better and smoother gameplay when i do this before i play. Also the triple buffering and the frame rate target of 90 (120hz monitor) i get basically no tearing without having to use vsync.
I honestly feel C2 just isnt quite optimized for the gtx 690, becuase with BF3 and my sli 570s i got 40-60fps all maxed out, now with a 690 i get Solid 120fps all maxed out with BF3. I personally think C3 will be much better optimized, but for now just have to work with what we got.

...you know Triple Buffering only works when vSync is enabled right?
