 Post subject: Crysis 3 - New Animation Ideas

After watching the interactive trailer, I had a couple ideas I thought would be cool to share and hear what else everyone might be able to come up with.

What inspired me was the swimming animations where prophet now has two different kinds of strokes when swimming in water. I think they're awesome and frankly something that could really benefit the game if there were more animations like that giving you the opportunity to interact with the world more. It would be more immersive and engaging for sure so here's what I've come up with.

1 - Diving animation: It would be sweet if when you jumped from high up to have a diving animation. I remember even when playing Crysis there were sections where I would jump off huge cliffsides and although it wasn't diving there was an animation where your arms would swing out in front of you as you fell feet first. I had this idea back then too so I think this would really be cool.

2 - Sliding Trip/Kick Animation: When sliding on the ground you can hit an enemy (which I think knocks them down) but it would be way cooler if you could slide and trip/kick them over.

3 - Picking up Guns/Ammo Animation: This one would of coarse be brought back from Crysis and I think it should. It really added a whole new level of fun to the gameplay. I remember having to simply make a plan just to run out from a hiding spot to pick up a gun or get ammo sometimes and it was great to see the animation.

4 - Stealth Gun Grab Animation: I think it would be cool to be able to sneak up behind a cell agent or alien and have an animation to steal their weapon. Maybe it would not work sometimes as well but when it does, you knock them out with a cool animation stealing their weapon. This could be an addition to the neck breaker/throat stab animation too.

What do you guys think?

Actually, you can already slide kick in Crysis 2. Just press the melee button while sliding and Alcatraz will perform a kick. I learned about this a few months ago.

Great idea, I'd love seeing this return in Crysis 3.

Ha, damn....you can already slide kick huh. Well I guess I haven't played C2 in awhile obviously.

I was thinking about some funny ones too...like a Maximum Strength kick to the balls and the cell agent flies away 20 feet in the air and his helmet flies off. Ha, that would be hilarious.

Sliding while picking up weapons and kicking the old weapon into the enemy's face would look pretty badass :P

Oh yeah, that would be sick to pick up weapons while you were sliding. Nice!

I REALLY don't understand how they can't or why they wouldn't implement the ammo and gun grab the same way they had it for Crysis 1.

I know, I can't tell you how much I hate running up to ammo boxes and instantly having ammo. Completely lame...I just don't understand the thought process on it either. It was something that really added to the gameplay, made it more mature in a sense. In C2 it made it feel really cheesy. I hope they put it back in, I really do.
