According to the site OP linked, they're in-game screenshots. I see no reason to believe they've been touched up using Photoshop. I mean, look at how visuals are jumping ahead in 2012. Check out screenshots from The Last of Us/Halo 4 and you'll have to agree they're way ahead of what we got in 2011. Then consider they're running on dated console hardware, and made by devs with far less emphasis on high-end visuals than Crytek. That Crysis 3 should drop jaws goes without saying.

They look like pure CryEngine3 (maybe rendered at an insane res), it's supposed to deliver CGI-level graphics in real time, so while it's understandable that they can't go that far on a current gen game they can certainly make it look very good. The main change is the new lightning, much better than C2.

They look ok to me....only ok.

They're beauty shots too...C2 had plenty of those and when you'd zoom in you get really poor textures, also in gameplay. It's apparent in close up shots of the soldiers. Textures are soft and a bit blurry instead of hard and sharp...still very skeptical, I'd feel better if they would address the textures and POM directly. Not sure if we would have gotten a texture patch if nobody complained with C2 and the patch was weak. 3rd party texture packs were way better.

I'm digressing here but the console should be available so we can mess with cfg files too...POM should be accessable to users with DX10.

Thanks SLI, definitely some better textures on the text, logos/decals for sure with the hi res.

Looking forward to more...
