If you own the Maximum Edition C2, can you confirm whether it allows you to create more than one account (via the in-game menu) with each account having access to the DLC?

The original DLC release only allows the purchasing account to use it, and I have DLC1 on one account and DLC2 on another and they cant be combined...

I cant find an answer to this anywhere. Thanks in advance--

(As a side note, how is the Limited Edition Bonus content handled? Is it a one-time redeemable code, or is it simply unlocked for each account you create?)

I remember a while ago I made a new account and it came with the Level 5 xp boost and SCAR digital camo, but not the platinum dog tag
(this was the Limited Edition)

Everything is tied to your account I believe; although I was provided with a new CD Key when I purchased the Maximum Edition, the game used the one from my old Crysis 2 Steam install and the ME already knew my username and password. I can use DLC and I also got me a nice shiny gold dogtag which is sweet.

Thanks for the reply. What I'm wondering is will M.E. allow you to

* Join a DLC server with one account (created by M.E. or that wasn't already DLC)
* Create a brand-new player (mycrysis.com account), then
* Join a DLC server with the new player account.

So its allowing you to use DLC with your old existing player where you couldn't before?

Yes, I can play on DLC servers with the account that was made before I owned the DLC. I am assuming that the first time you boot up, the game pings Crytek's servers and tells their back-end to tie the M.E to whatever account you logged into the game with.
However I cannot be sure, you may be able to log in with any account and recieve DLC content; I don't want to test those theories in case I break something, =P

Just create a new account dude and when you launch your game, skip the login screen and create a new singleplayer profile then log in with your new account and tell us if you have DLC on it. Then to play on your main account, log out, switch back to your normal profile then log in with your main account details. I'd like to know too about Maximum Edition...

If you will be installing it on the same machine, it should be as simple as de-activating your existing game (using activation.exe in the Crysis 2 subfolders) and then reinstalling the new version on top of it. Make a backup of "C:\users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis 2" (win7) just in case, but yes, it can be done.

It seems this thread has the information I needed: no problem using the old account in Maximum Edition.
