Interesting. Yes, my game kept crashing for 5 times. It freezes on "Initializing profile" and crashes soon after. I thought it was something wrong with my PC, so I reinstalled the game and it worked fine after that...

Barring any hardware changes (clocks, new USB devices) It does sound like scrambled files... If you want to try to avoid a re-install, testing if its the "work folder" is relatively easy: 1. make a copy of your entire C:\users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis 2 folder 2. Delete the original, forcing the game to do a "new install" initialization 3. If you can login to multiplayer, you can then restore just the C:\users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis 2\profiles and C:\users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis 2\savedgames folders to restore your multiplayer and singleplayer settings.
If a profile file is damaged the game will usually just delete and re-create them ("all my weapons are gone, wtf!"), not freeze up. There are other cache and work files in that Saved Games folder that I'm thinking might be the culprit.
If that doesnt work, restore the entire backup that you made and reinstall the game...

This doesn't seem to be a pc only issue. I have it for ps3 and mine is freezing on initializng squad, which is basically the same point as others are freezing on pc.

I was able to play last night but today the game freezes when attempting to load to the multiplayer home screen. I have the PS3 version and tried it on two different consoles. Same result. I uninstalled the game data and this did not fix it.

All useful info. I was wondering about a gamespy glitch maybe, but no one else seemed to be suffering at the same time. Now...
Forgive my being totally clueless here, but does gamespy handle the console cloud data also? I assumed so, but I really dont know.
