Can i get a Crytek response from this?
I'm disgusted what you did to the PC fan base... I was in the Crysis beta years ago- Power Struggle on the Shore map. I played it every morning and loved it to death. Purchased Crysis on release and have been playing the multiplayer for years, even through the Crysis 2 release. I believe Power Struggle to be some of the best multiplayer gaming ever created.
Did i purchase Crysis 2 on release? No. Want to guess why? You already know.
No, in fact I never intended to purchase it at all until i saw a digital copy sale for $7.50 a couple weeks ago.
I was disgusted to learn that the initial release shipped with low console resolution textures and no DX11 support. (certainly glad i wasn't conned into paying $60 for this unacceptable quality at release.)
After the patches though, i will admit the game looks beautiful in action. I am running DX11, Ultra quality on everything except no tesselation, 1920x1200 8xSSAA. Really looks stunning and it runs great. Although it is more linear than Crysis1, the variation in the level design is great and the single player campaign is quite fun.
All of the console port qualities of the game are atrocious though. Dumbed down restrictive console port controls. No lean keys, no grenade throw key (need to holster my weapon to throw a grenade now?!), fail operation of suit modes (armor mode is not the base mode of the suit, no speed mode, the whole thing fails and feels stupid), no prone, 16 player multiplayer max.. multiplayer is terrible.. locked weapons, a class system, total restriction, wtf is this... im lvl 18 and i can't even stand to play anymore.
Just... all i want to say is...
Give PC Exclusive Content.
Is that so hard? really? We're the ones who got you where you are now Crytek. I want to continue to support you, i really do. But I'm not going to support a company that isn't supporting us..
Don't give us a console port multiplayer. Give us 40 player maps, a true keyboard/mouse control scheme (lean keys, prone, you know what you did in crysis 2 :l) HUGE MAPS... power struggle and actually fun multiplayer gameplay.
I realize this is a pretty futile post and you're just going to develop Crysis3 for consoles and give us a shallow port with shallow multiplayer gameplay... But I am really a true Crysis fan at heart because of the first game so i need to let you know that at least someone gives a damn!

It's not because it's hard, it's cos they want teh monehz. But quite ironically you said that equipping grenades as a separate weapon is "console port"-ish? Well I disagree, it's better if it's separate, just like melee/fists/knives/whatever

1. Quick grenades are console-ish, the hell are you talking about?! Equiping them as separate weapons is better IMO. 2. PC is getting exclusive content, we call it "modding", and that's the best exclusive content you can get in any game IMO too.
I agree with the rest, too bad Crytek is probably not caring about any of these topics at all.

Actually, we read pretty much all of the topics. We simply don't comment on most, usually because we have nothing to share on the topic. We're not talking about C3 MP yet so nothing i can say on this.

Well, out of curiosity, what are you talking about regarding Crysis 3 at the moment? Is it acceptable to ask what stage of development you guys are in? What has been finished and what is still under debate?
I've never spoken to a developer before Crytek, so I'm not very keen on the etiquette. I'm really pumped for Crysis 3, so I'd like to know what you're able to communicate to us before we explode in frustration.

You know something, not everyone can afford a high end gaming machine and I'm thankful that Crytek has brought Crysis 1 and 2 to consoles. You really just sound like a baby whining about how you're only level 18 and can't stand to play anymore. Crysis 2 multiplayer is the best multiplayer experience I've ever had, I've played most of the shooter games and nothing really compares to the level of depth provided by leveling up your suit and all the modules because after you do that and truly master the suit it really makes you feel powerful. From my experience Crysis 2 multiplayer on PS3 is a very competitive game, when I first started in the lower ranks and ran into squads of elite players I couldn't dream of being able to beat them but I didn't give up, I just kept beating back against them and after lots of hard work and thinking it pays off. You wanna get good then find a squad of exceptional players, make friends with them ( The truly exceptional ones aren't a holes), tell them to kick you and play against them until your thumbs hurt, you won't win but man it's a hell of a rush.

do the devs think about the pc fan base and where crytek started out and got their succes? Do we get a real pc game this time around or will it be just another simple consoleport with pc extras. How big can you actually make the game when you have to keep the strength of the current console in mind.
Can crytek explain to us pc gamers, why crytek cant make a pc game and port that version to the old consoles? Why exactly does crytek make a console version to start with...why? WHY? You made your cryengine3.0 to work on consoles, but yet you also make these tech demo's showing of the cryengine on high end pc, but yet we dont get this at home for some years now. How does this work nowadays. Is crytek like really waiting for the next console to arrive to really start using the full CE3.0?

Certainly, but not everything is a simple case of pressing down on the lever and your toast is ready. We have taken on board a lot of feedback from previous games and you'll just have to wait and see how that has come to fruition when we release more on Crysis 3 :)
