Post subject: 3D option greyed out on AMD cards? Posted: 03 24, 2011 /10:04 |
|
After seeing that I was unable to change 3D settings in the main menu (Even though I have a 3D compatible monitor), I searched for similar cases and noticed that all those who can alter the 3D setting from the main menu are using nVidia cards.
Is the 3D feature exclusive to nVidia cards? Anyway, any others with this issue? Would appreciate an official reply. :)

Ati cards doesn't natively support 3d as far as i know..so uh maybe if you download ati's third party 3d driver it will work

Post subject: No Stereoscopic 3D support for ATI/AMD cards? Posted: 03 25, 2011 /03:39 |

After scouring various forums about this issue, it seems to me that, as in the demo, if you have an ATI video card then the stereoscopic 3D option is greyed out. Every post I have seen so far about the 3D has been by nvidia users, and all ATI users seem to be complaining that they can't activate it.
So I'd like to put a call out to all ATI card owners, if you could please have a quick check to see if you can access the stereoscopic 3D options or if they're greyed out, then report back here? I'd love to hear from at least ONE person who has it working!
Thanks!

This is stupid. I know for a fact Crysis 2 has 3D Side-By-Side support, which my TV handles fine in all the other games (eg, Avatar), and the Side-By-Side 3D worked fine for the demo on 360.
Yes, you have heavy support for nVidia, but come on.
If people are prepared to spend some money, they can buy the generic 3D drivers for ATI cards, but they use a different 3D method that Crysis 2. If you already support standard side-by-side anyway, why disable it for us?

Whoopie Doo!!! Nvidia's cash buys a big bag of fail for anybody using a different graphics chip manufacturer again.
Time to stop alienating half of your customers and stop getting involved in easy money schemes that only serve to annoy so many.

Bump! to keep it on front page
I feel this problem atleast deserves an explanation as there is no mention of the 3D being disabled to ATI users

Found a Fix for us ATI users!
go to your system.cfg
default would be something like C:/program Files/Crysis 2/system.cfg
and add the following line ( Open with notepad or something )
r_StereoSupportAMD = 1
save it and load up Crysis 2. Boosh, it works!!

For now, that is Nvidia's proprietary technology, as you might know, so IT WILL NOT WORK.
That is the main reason I bought NVIDIA.
Sorry nothing to do here. You better do some research next time
